Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for most of Saskatchewan, including Moose Jaw and the entire southern part of the province.

The weather agency says an arctic high pressure ridge will put the overnight low temperatures in the -30 degree range through Wednesday morning. Coupled with a wind between 10-15 km/hr, we're expected to have a wind chill factor of -40 or colder.

Environment Canada also says "a fast moving weather system will bring milder air into the area Wednesday afternoon and evening, however it will be accompanied by light snow and blowing snow."

They add that more extreme cold could be in the picture Thursday morning.

However, we're still expected to return to normal or above-normal temperatures by the weekend.
