People out shopping aren't the only ones getting ready for the holiday season. The Festival of Words may have their big week in the summer, but their planning and small events are all year round.

Amanda Farnell, Operations Coordinator with the Festival of Words, said that this year they will be starting their Spring Cineview Film Series, which begins early in the new year.

"We run those once a month and we are just going to be starting up our Spring season on January 17th with 'Loving Vincent'," explained Farnell. "You can get a full pass for the season... and it's $30 for five films."

Sarah Simison, Executive Director, said she's excited for the special guests who will be in attendance.

"We've got the last two Gillar Award winning authors Madeleine Thien and Michael Redhill are coming, and also Joel Thomas Hynes who just won the Governor General's Award for Fiction. And recently we just confirmed Karl Subban, so P.K. Subban's dad is coming... he has a book called "How we did it: The Subban Plan For Success in Hockey School and Life."

The Festival of Words runs from July 19-22 in Moose Jaw.
