Fire Prevention Week wrapped up in schools across Moose Jaw yesterday on October 13th.

To celebrate, some classrooms managed to get a pizza party for their participation this week.

"We had the fire department come in and do a presentation to grades five to eight and they made escape plan," explained Jackie Straub, Vice Principal at Prince Arthur. "So what they needed to do is they need to go home they needed to plan escape route out of their house and then what we did was we took highest percentage of the [participators in] class and they got a pizza party."

Mayor Fraiser Tolmie, the Fire Department and their Public Educations Officer, Cathie Basset, all came down to talk to the kids and enjoy the party.

"I think it's really important that all of our students are aware that they come up with plans," added Straub. "Being proactive, that's the key to safety here."
