According to the weekly crop report, 99 percent of provincial crops are now in the bin, an increase from 96 percent last week.

The 99 percent completion rate is well ahead of the 5-year average of 83 percent for this time of year.

Harvest is virtually complete in the south and west-central region. In the east-central and northeastern regions, 99 percent is complete, while the northwest region has 98 percent complete.

Most of the crop still in the field is canola, flax, soybeans and faba beans.

Many farmers will now be busy wrapping up combining throughout the province, as well as post-harvest field operations, such as harrowing, working low spots, applying anhydrous ammonia, and cleaning and fixing equipment.
