The Wall of Excellence is a bit of a pet project that Central Collegiate High School has been working on amongst coaches and staff to find pictures of past teams so they can showcase the teams and their accomplishments.

They were working on it more among themselves, but now Central is reaching out to the community and any graduates to get some help in filling out the Wall with the photos they are missing.

"We are missing about 160 photos. I just recently put up about 20 photos last night so we are slowly getting there," said the Phys Ed teacher at Central, Colin Belsher. "You know if you walk down peacocks hallway, and its a really nice sight to look at, and look back there and I am a former peacock student from back in the day and my picture is still up there and every once in a while I will have students come up to me and say 'hey I seen your picture on the wall."

So, they've been trying to fill out the wall ever since it was started by another PE teacher in the past. While they've made good progress, they are hoping they could get some outside help, and they know exactly what they are looking for.

"Right down to the year and the sport from 1960 all the way up to the present day, I have a matrix of exactly what we're looking for," Belsher added." So, if anybody would like to know they can certainly get a hold of us at the school. We're certainly going to put this chart online and somewhere so people can take a look and see what we're missing and hopefully we can start filling those gaps."

While the yearbooks have been helpful in finding what they need and they do contain some of the photos, it is hard to blow them up and try to keep at least some of the quality.

So, even if they are black and white, Central is hoping you can help with the photos. They can be blown up because the photos are 8 inches by 10 inches, they just need larger than the yearbook photos.

You can contact Central at 306-693-4691 if you are interested in helping with the Wall of Excellence.
