More and more Christmas spirit is making its way into Moose Jaw as some high schools have begun caroling in the downtown area.

Riverview Collegiate had brought down some of its students Friday afternoon to perform for all the people downtown.

"I think it's fantastic," said Nigel Gemmell, owner of Gemmell’s Shoes. "We heard a lot of good things from customers and people just walking in and out of the other stores down here and being pleasantly surprised that a group of carolers walked down and just made the whole atmosphere super exciting."

Gemmell had a little hand in getting the carolers downtown, as he made calls to high schools asking if they would like to participate.

Vanier and Central will be making their way downtown soon, as they plan to have students carol during the month of December too.

"I appreciate them coming down for free to support the community," added Gemmell. "I think it's a really nice thing."
