Another long weekend means more travelling and traffic on the highway.

So the Government of Saskatchewan is reminding everyone that the Highway Hotline is always available.

"It's the final long weekend for travel during the construction season and we expect it to be busy on the highways," said Steve Shaheen, Senior Communications Consultant with the Ministry of Highways Communications Branch. "Motorists can go onto the highway hotline, there's a map, and look for any of the little icons, pylons, that people will see on there and indicate the type of work that is going on."

The Hotline sends alerts on road conditions, construction zones, weather, and gives access to highway cameras.

It's online on your phone or desktop, or call (306) 787-7623 or toll-free at 1-888-335-7623 in order to hear prerecorded messages on road conditions.

The best thing is it's always at your fingertips.

"Just pay attention and leave lots of time to get your destination safely."
