The provincial government reported 185 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday afternoon. In addition to the new cases, two deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported, as well as 186 recoveries.  

There are currently 1,167 active cases of COVID-19 throughout Saskatchewan, with 155 people in hospital receiving treatment. Of those who are hospitalized, 39 are in intensive care. 

Of the new cases reported on Saturday, 47 were under the age of 12. There were another 21 in the 12-19 age group. There were 48 new cases in the 20-39 age group, 48 in the 40-59 age group, 20 in the 60 to 79 age group and one over the age of 80. 

Geographically, the Saskatoon and Regina areas had the most new cases, with 34 and 32 respectively. There were 29 new cases reported in the North West, 27 in the South East, 24 in the North Central and 10 in the Central East. Another seven new cases were reported in the South West, six in the Far North West, five in the Far North East, three in the South Central and North East regions, and two in the Central West. 

The daily update reported a total of 2,477 vaccinations as being administered. The data included in the report Saturday was from vaccination administered on Thursday. Of those, 614 were first doses, and 1,863 were second doses. Currently, 70.1 percent of the province’s total population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
