The Association of Regina Realtors released the monthly report for July, which saw sales decrease in Moose Jaw and region compared to last year.

Manager of Operations and Member Services Rob Reynar says it could be due to the slow down in other industries like energy, uranium, and crops but the Moose Jaw area is fairly stable compared to most recent years. He says in the city, sales are only down two compared to 2017 while the region as a whole is down 14% or about 10 purchases.

Reynar goes on to add that although sales are down, prices remaining steady, something he says is good for Moose Jaw.

"We've also seen inventory go up and generally when that happens, prices are affected," said Reynar. "Prices are holding there fairly steady."

While that may seem like a good thing, there are several listings in the city that have been on the market for years with some home owners unable to find buyers do to the increase in inventory. Other factors impacting the local market include changes to mortgage rules that have made things a little harder for first time home buyers.
