There are over 50 events happening in the Saskatchewan Festival of Words with presenters coming from all over. Authors don't need to be from Saskatchewan to be a presenter at the Festival of Words, but it's a special treat when they are.

Alice Kuipers is a best selling author and the writer in residence at the Saskatoon Public Library, and even though she lives there now, it's not where she started out.

"I grew up in the UK, and then I fell in love with a Canadian writer who was doing the residency at the Saskatoon Public Library in 2003. So we decided to try Saskatoon together and that was 14 years ago."

Kuipers has written many best selling books, and her latest "Me (and) Me" is being promoted in a very unique way. On her webpage, alicekuipers.com, teases her book the same way would would at movie; with a trailer.

"A local filmmaker based in Saskatoon, Matt Braden, made the trailer. I talked with him a little bit, and then basically he read the opening of "Me (and) Me", the prologue. He just took that and went with it, and made this absolutely fantastic trailer. Lots have people have seen it and I think it's a really good way to connect with what a book might be."

Kuipers will be speaking at a few different sessions during the festival. You can see the full schedule at festivalofwords.com.
