RCMP from Craik are investigating a report of attempted child abduction.

On Tuesday, a young girl was outside Craik School around 4 pm when an adult male approached her asking if she needed a ride. After declining, the male insisted, but then left the scene heading southbound on the gravel road toward Highway 11.

He was driving a clean, newer modeled white vehicle, he did not have facial hair, and was not wearing a hat or glasses.

Craik RCMP is encouraging parents in the area to talk to their children about safety precautions. To not talk to strangers, do no approach a vehicle if you don't know the person inside, and to stick to sidewalks instead of walking through alleys or parks.

If you or someone you know has any additional information about the incident you're asked to contact the RCMP especially if you saw the car at around 4 p.m. in the Craik area.
