Saskatchewan Conservation Officers are asking for tips after a mule deer was found wasted near Penzance, just northeast of Chamberlain off Highway 2.

Conservation Officer Rich Hildebrand say it looks like the mule deer was shot the evening of December 2nd. "They found this mule deer had been shot about 50 yards off the grid road and had been shot in the neck.... it seemed to have been shot at the end of the day at the end of the whitetail deer season."

The fact that it was the wrong species for the season that was open and that the animal was left to waste is why COs are looking for the culprit.

SaskTip is offering a $2000 cash reward for help in solving this case and you can click here for more details on how to submit a tip.
