The last few weeks have been a bit different for the crew over at JGL Livestock as they've officially moved over to their new location and brand new facility.

Their previous address was on Home Street and they began the new adventure when there was an increased demand in the cattle industry and their services.

One of the founding partners, Bill Jameson, said the move was much needed as he felt they needed to expand but didn't have anywhere to go.

Bill Jameson, one of the co-founders of JGL Livestock.

"Our old locations down there by the tracks, we were behind the South Hill Fire Hall, we just ran out of room," said Jameson. "The truck traffic there has increased dramatically over the years and there has businesses spring up just over the bridge and the traffic got a little bit ugly...we just ran out of room."

Jameson noted that moving to the outside of the city will pull a lot of semi drivers, who would normally have to travel through the city slowing down smaller vehicles, will now have the opportunity to move more freely on the outskirts of Moose Jaw to their new spot.

"There always has been controversy in Moose Jaw about truck traffic over the year, the controversy is over as far as we're concerned. There's still going to be truck traffic in town, but we won't be part of it and I think truck drivers have a lot of space out at this new location and they're going to be pretty happy."

Chair Financial Officer, Shay Jameson, said from the beginning stages of the project they wanted it to be local from the ground up.

"I think JGL and the employees and families at JGL have always been big community supporters, we try to stay involved in the community and that's one thing that we talked about going into the project is when it was possible we wanted to use local contractors."

The new building has the same faces and Bill added the coffee is always on.
