We've received multiple calls Friday morning saying there are a pair of moose on the west side of the city, somewhere in the area of the Kinsmen Sportsplex, Palliser Heights, and Lindale school.

While moose are typically not dangerous, it's highly encouraged you do not approach the animals. Moose can be very unpredictable, and if calves are in the area, they can become aggressive.

Conservation officers will be collecting information to locate the moose, before trying to chase it out of city limits. If they are unable to herd them out, they will tranquilize the animal, load them up, and haul them out of the city.

In March of 2019, conservation officers were deployed to chase out a cow moose and her calf from a schoolyard.
