Thursday is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.

The day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l’Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal who died because they were women. The day of remembrance is about remembering victims, and the opportunity to consider actions to eliminate violence against women and girls.

A remembrance luncheon will take place from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Minto United Church in Moose Jaw.
