Following an oil spill, crews were able to contain and clean-up the situation that originated back on Tuesday of last week.

The spill, which flowed down from South Country Equipment as a result of an accident, was localized near a water drain, and ended up in the creek, which ran down Main St. to the Hillcrest Golf course.

6 holes were closed for a time at the club, then 3 holes were closed Friday and Saturday though by Saturday afternoon all 18 holes were open for play.

All that remains of the incident are oil absorbent pads in Spring Creek along hole 10 to catch the remaining remnants of oil.

Following cleanup and remediation an evaluation by the Ministry of Environment will follow.
