Wednesday, October 17, is the big day as residents will be voting in a new city councilor, and a new board member for the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division.

We went around town Monday to see if people intended on voting in the by-election, and the majority agreed they would.

"Yes, get the right guy in."

"I might yeah, so I can pick somebody good to manage things in Moose Jaw."

"Yes, to get somebody else. Somebody different."

"Yes I will be voting in this election because it's my duty living in this city.'"

"Yes, because I think my opinion matters as a citizen of Moose Jaw.'"

"I'll be voting but I don't know who I'm voting for, I haven't even looked at it yet. I'll vote so I can have a choice of who's in there and if I don't like the people who get elected then I can't blame other people for voting and me not voting, right?"

While the majority did agree that will be filling out a ballot, some residents won't be doing the same.

"No. There's nobody to vote for so why even vote."

"Nope, never even got around to checking everybody out."

Polls will be open from 9 am to 8 pm on Wednesday.

City Council Chambers will also be open for anyone from the public to attend and watch the live voting results. Advance and special poll results - where they received a total of 530 votes - will be released at 8:15 pm

DiscoverMooseJaw.com will be your home for all things election, with results and reaction coming in after the winners are named. You can also follow along on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well.
