It's not your average rodeo but it's a show to check out, as the Saskatchewan Miniature Horse Club Show is taking place at the exhibition grounds Sunday.

This isn't the first time we've had a show in town, but it's the first time in a long time. Exhibitors travel from all over to enter their miniature horses into classes.

That could be halter, showmanship, jumping, halter obstacle, and driving.

"There's a whole lot of different things for each class," Caitlyn Malyk said, one of the exhibitor's at the show. "It's cool to see if you have a horse who could do it all if they could do it all."

Malyk has been doing shows for seven years and brought three of her four mini's here, all the way from Clyve, Alberta to compete in the different classes. Malyk conditions her horses in the spring and prepares them for all the show's they will do during their summer tour. That usually includes two shows in Alberta, a show at Calgary Stampede, and other random shows like here in Moose Jaw and nationals down in Tulsa, Oklahoma in September.

She did admit Moose Jaw is one of the smaller ones she's been to, but she did say there is tons of support at the competition so it's been good.

The show continues Sunday at the exhibition ground with over 70 events taking place there throughout the day. The best part, it's free and family friendly.

"Mini's are so fun to show I also show big horses but the mini's are just super fun," Malyk added. "It's kind of like a big dog, you don't really have to know a whole lot to show them and it's just so fun we have a lot of fun with the mini's."
