The Moose Jaw Kinettes Club held a special cheque presentation over the weekend where they handed over $1000 of equipment to the Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP).

"They gave us a list of their top pieces of equipment that they really wanted their early interventionists to have," said Kinettes President, Tanya Heisler. "The number one thing they've been looking for...for several years was this set of four nesting benches or tables. Also scooters, and inflatable domes that are used for kids that need help with their gross motor skills."

Heisler says ECIP initially reached out to them for fundraising help and that the Kinettes were happy to help.

"Any of their equipment that they use and take into people's homes, they really need money through donations. They sent us a letter and we invited them to one of our meetings to make a presentation to us. We felt that it was really aligned with what we wanted to do as a club. They were really excited about it and really thankful."

"I'm really glad we were able to help them out," said Heisler, "If other people aren't aware of what they [ECIP] do, people can be referred to for their program by anyone in the community. If somebody has a family member or knows someone that has a child who may have developmental delays or anything like that, they can go to their website and they can refer people to ECIP to get some of their services."

The Moose Jaw Kinette Club now has a busy few weeks ahead of them planning their fundraisers for Telemiracle, which takes place in March, and offering safe rides home from the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Banquet that takes place February 2 at the Heritage Inn.
