Moose Jaw Police are warning of a couple new scams that are out to take your money.

The first makes you think you won a prize from either "Publisher's Clearing House" or "Reader's Digest". To get the prize, however, they ask for a money order to cover taxes or legal fees. They continue to ask for funds after that and never send a prize.

The second it similar in that it asks for money for something they are suppose to be giving you. The scam appears as an online ad offering a loan. But before you receive the loan they need money to cover insurance or initial payments. And again, after requesting money from you multiple times, no loan is given out.

Moose Jaw police remind everyone that unsolicited calls saying you have won a prize are usually scams, and to only receive loans from reputable businesses. But above all, if someone says you win or get something, but you have to pay them first, it's a scam.

If you have been victim of or believe you have been victim of a scam, contact the Moose Jaw Police Service or go online to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre for more information.
