It was a showcase of the different aspects of Moose Jaw's diversity and this year's theme for the Western Development Museum's Heritage Day lined up with Canada 150.

Visitors were treated to hands-on activities and displays from groups including, the Claybank Brick Plant, the Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and the Moose Jaw Cultural Society.

"The theme of our Heritage Day is 'Arms Wide Open: 150 Years of Diversity' which is in-line with the Canada 150 anniversary here." explained Karla Pratt with the museum. "Saskatchewan, Moose Jaw and Canada is such a diverse place, so having this fair here really allows us to recognize that diversity and appreciate what's made us who we are."

The Yorkton Film Festival was awarded a Canada 150 grant, that they were able to share with the WDM, in order to subsidize many costs, including admission. The New Southern Plains Metis Local 160, the Saskatchewan Festival of Words and Moose Jaw Pride were just some of the groups at the event this weekend that featured things like butter churning, milking demonstrations and crafts.
