The Moose Jaw Cultural Centre has a new general manager.

MJCC Board Chair Colleen Patterson has confirmed that they have hired Darren McCaffery to replace Graham Hall as General Manager of the performing and visual arts facility.

Patterson couldn't go into detai but did say Hall and Judy Casey - both employed by the MJCC since it opened in 2004 - were no longer with the organization.

"After 13 years we decided as a board we needed a new direction," stated Patterson.

As for McCaffery, he was most recently the General Manager of the E.A. Rawlinson Centre in Prince Albert. Similar in nature to the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre, the E.A. Rawlinson Centre houses the 600-seat Olive and John G. Diefenbaker performing arts theatre, in addition to the Mann Art Gallery.

"He is going to bring some new ideas for the Cultural Centre," Patterson said.
