To ensure that no animals are left out in the cold this winter, a new foster organization has been established in the Friendly City.

Running Wild Rescue looks to take in animals of any type that may need a home.

Running Wild Rescue's Jenna Beaton explained how the organization will work. "We focus mainly on community-based animals. Animals that perhaps someone can no longer care for them, we would take them in and give them the veterinary care that they need, then place them in foster care until they can be adopted into their forever home."

The new organization isn't limited to just dogs and cats either.

"We take in every animal. We take in guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, whatever needs to be homed we will take in. We are always looking for fosters, anyone that can foster anything is greatly appreciated."

A steak night will be held Tuesday night at Cornerstone to raise money in hopes of covering vet costs, which will help them to bring in even more animals. Beaton says fundraising will be a big part of their future in the city.

"The rescue itself is completely foster based. We are 100% non-profit and we rely a lot on different fundraising that we do, a lot of different events."
