Do you know someone or a group that has made an impact on our community, big or small?

There is still time to nominate them for the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce Citizen and Group of the Year Awards, sponsored by Golden West Broadcasting and CAE.

According to the Chamber of Commerce website, the awards are to “recognize significant contributions to our City’s quality of life, both social and economic, made by private citizens. These awards increase public awareness of these contributions and give well-deserved tribute.”

The theme of this year’s awards ceremony is “Acts of Kindness.”

“Over this last year with all the events and happenings in 2021, somebody you know has created some happiness within the community,” said Chamber of Commerce CEO Rob Clark.

Last year’s recipients were local businessman John Iatridis for Citizen of the Year and the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club for Group of the Year.

However, Clark said the awards are open to all age groups.

“I know there are lots of youth out there that could be nominated for some of the things that they've done within the community as well,” he said

The awards ceremony is slated for Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. While it isn’t 100 percent confirmed, Clark said it is looking like the event will go virtual again this year.

Nomination forms can be found on the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce website.
