One death and 300 new cases of COVID-19 were announced on Monday, as well as 253 recoveries.

The one resident who tested positive for COVID-19 and died was in their 60's from the Regina zone.

Of the new cases, 17 are in the south-central region, 96 are in Regina, 72 in Saskatoon, 22 in the central-east, 22 in the southeast, 17 in the northwest, 15 in the central-west, 10 in the southwest, nine in the north-central zone, four in the far northwest, three in the far northeast, and one in the northeast. 12 new cases are pending resident information.

2,549 cases are considered active, with 166 of those located in the south-central region. Of those 166, 160 are located in the sub-region 'south-central 2' which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

198 people are in hospital with 157 receiving inpatient care, and 41 are in intensive care.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 261 (21.3 new cases per 100,000).

Vaccine Update

An additional 8,856 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 290,921.

The 8,856 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following regions: Far North West (6), Far North East (48), North West (274), North Central (332), North East (62), Saskatoon (1,752), Central West (343), Central East (896), Regina (2,881), South West (461), South Central (542) and South East (1,040). There were 219 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Fifty-two per cent of Saskatchewan residents age 50+ have received their first dose.
