It was one month ago when Ruby Barnes, a 64-year-old woman was reported missing after being seen last in Carlyle, Saskatchewan.

"She went into Carlyle to pay some bills," explained Trish Read, a family friend. "She had been back home at White Bear Resort, had left the receipts on the table and vanished."

"She is the most kind, gentle, big-hearted person ever. She would do anything for anyone. She is big into family, she doesn't miss anything that is family related. She would never miss her grand kids or her great-grand kids activities."

"With social media and everything else we have access to when somebody goes missing, you would think they would be found right away. But that's not the case here."

It has been hard on the family of Ruby.

"Both Ruby's daughters are falling apart. She also has two sons, one that lives in Victoria and one in Edmonton, I believe. This is not easy on any of them, or Ruby's husband. They are just as baffled as everyone else."

Barnes was last seen driving a white 2013 Ford Escape which has not been located.

"As far as the public, watch for her vehicle. Check sloughs, check dugouts, bluffs of trees, old buildings. A license plate can be switched in a matter of seconds so it's not necessarily her license plate."

"I know that the family has been in contact with the RCMP every day. They have searched all around Broadview and Grenfell and numerous other places and nothing comes up."

Locals have been stepping up with offers of help. Local pilots have searched from the air, a business in Carievale made bumper stickers to give out free of charge. RCMP have been monitoring her cell phone and bank accounts and have seen no activity.

"I don't know what to think, I really don't. I honestly don't think she would have done this on purpose. There's more questions than answers, that's for sure."

A Facebook page called Bring Ruby Home has been set up to share information.
