The May long weekend is typically the first time families head out on holidays to camp and take in the outdoors.

With some provincial parks at capacity a local spot is letting residents know they have room and the fee is easier on your wallet.

"We also got a little special this weekend since (Buffalo Pound) Provincial Park is full, we're off 50% off for the 3 days of the long weekend," said Owner and Operator Rick Campbell for Peanut Hills Campground. "We've got 50 amps at every site.... we also have fiber optics WiFi throughout the campground and I know from SaskTel that I'm the only campground that has that."

As the Peanut Hills Campground is still putting on the finishing touches Campbell added that they will have a playground in the near future and some campsites are equipped with fire pits already with more to come.

The campground is located on the East side of the city.
