Not out of the woods yet as two more cases of Whooping Cough have been confirmed in the Moose Jaw area.

Five Hills Health Region Medical Health Officer Dr Mark Vooght says they will likely keep the outbreak status in place for another month as they continue to look into the situation.

"We have five cases in the Moose Jaw area." explained Dr. Vooght. "Our recommendation is still the same in that all pregnant women receive the Pertussis vaccine and that all infants receive their normal vaccination."

Vooght says the outbreak of Whooping Cough has led them to start to re-explore their policies on vaccine boosters based on the fact that the current vaccine starts to wear off as the patient ages. Currently, some of the patients being treated for Whooping Cough had been vaccinated, adding to the new for a review.
