The City of Moose Jaw has hockey fever and for restaurants and bars in our city that is good news.

The Moose Jaw Warriors open up their Western Hockey Leauge playoff run tonight in downtown Moose Jaw at Mosaic Place against the Prince Albert Raiders.  Larry Langlois at the Park Hotel says when events like this happen downtown, things get busy.

"We'll see some people come in before and have something to eat and a drink and then head to Mosaic, and certainly after too".  Langlois added, "Warrior games get a lot of excitment in the community and bring out a lot of people, and brings them into the downtown core".

The impact is felt not only downtown.  Kelly Miller at Boston Pizza Main and Thatcher tells a similar story, saying game nights bring people out.

"For sure, we'll see more people out in the city, we'll see people from out of town traveling to our wonderful city, and that all turns into more people coming into the restaurant".

All this activity is great news for Rob Clark at the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce.  ``It brings a smile to my face, you know that good things are happening, and the downtown core is being recognized`.

Expect a busy city tonight and tomorrow night for games one and two of the WHL playoffs.  Listen for the action on Country100 and streaming at DiscoverMooseJaw.  The pre-game show is at 6:40
