It's hard to say if the new rules that came into effect on January 1st had anything to do with it or maybe people are getting the message from SGI and law enforcement, but local officers and their helpers had a positive outcome to a

check stop this weekend.

According to the Moose Jaw Police Service's social media, they held a check stop on Saturday night with help from Central Collegiate High School's SADD(Students Against Drunk Driving) group, and happily reported that they didn't have to charge anyone with impaired driving and all that was asked to do so passed their sobriety tests.

This past December and January SGI and officers across the province focused on impaired driving, and after just one month of the traffic safety spotlight officials reported 352 impaired driving offenses, including 306 criminal code charges and 46 roadside suspensions.
