After protests, read ins, letters and now a directive from the Premier, Education Minister Don Morgan is going to be reviewing the cuts made to libraries in the provincial budget.

The SaskParty government has been under a steady stream of criticism since the budget dropped, leading to a number of cuts in different departments.  Locally, the Palliser Regional Library had to lay off staff as well as follow through a provincial cut to the inter library lending program that saw books shipped around the province to allow wider enjoyment of the entire library collection.

Regional libraries lost more than half of their funding in the budget but Morgan criticized the libraries for the decision they made in response, saying the lending program was too good to lose, but didn't offer a solution.

A report is expected in the coming weeks.
