The Saskatchewan RCMP provided a brief update on their investigation into the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy on Tuesday.

They say the Collision Reconstruction Team and Major Crimes Unit are still working hard to analyze data and examine evidence, which will be used in their collision reconstruction. Once complete, a peer review will take place in order to confirm their findings.

The RCMP will then consult with the Crown, which is standard procedure for investigations as serious, sensitive, and complex as this.

There is no estimate given as to when the investigation might be complete.

Supt. Derek Williams, Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, said in a statement "We are all anxious to learn the results of this investigation to assist in understanding what led to this terrible tragedy. We are committed to sharing the outcome of the investigation as soon as we can.”

Investigators say they remain in close contact with victims families, and the driver of the semi.

There were rumours circulating through the province that the semi driver had fled the country, but in a previous release the RCMP confirmed that that is not the case.
