Riverside mission is a soup kitchen and men's shelter that feeds and supports those less fortunate in Moose Jaw, and they are hosting a dinner to raise funds to keep running.

The Harvest Banquet is a supper put on by Riverside to help pay for some of the things they provide, as they run solely on donations.

"We are blessed to be in this community, so let me say that first and foremost. Such giving people willing to give their time, their efforts and we have a freezer stocked full of food," said Jacob Oddie with Riverside Mission. "But there are things that come up. For instance we have a boiler repair that's going to cost $50,000."

The kitchen runs year round, and is most important in the winter, when those without housing are outside in the cold and dangerous winter. This coming event would help them run and keep their doors open during this time.

The banquet is on September 26th at the Sportsmen Center and tickets are $35 each. They'll have guests speaking at the event telling stories about their life and how Riverside Mission helped them

Tickets are available at their building and you can visit their website to find out more on the group and their events.
