A new campsite reservation system has been implemented by Sask Parks.

"It is a new system, and none of the old details and camping history carried over," explained Director of Park Experiences with the Ministry of Parks, Recreation and Sport, Minh Truong. "So the 2019 camping season, when you do go to book a campsite in one of our provincial parks, you will need to create a new account on the system."

The site will allow you to reserve all kinds of campsites as the season opens up, including seasonal sites on April 2nd, group sites on April 4th, and nightly sites on April 8th.

Truong also spoke on their new program, Camp Easy, stating "It's essentially a program where we provide a camping tent or yurt, in selected provincial parks.  And if you have no camping experience whatsoever, we make it easy for you by providing the equipment.  All you have to do is bring your clothes, bedding and food, and you can get to experience our provincial parks, without any of the hassle."

Provincial parks are officially open on May 16th, just in time for the May long weekend.
