Some refugees have been using ports of entry into Canada to escape the United States cracking down on illegal immigrants.

Though there's been cases coming to light in parts of Canada, but Saskatchewan hasn't had any recently according to RCMP.

"We're certainly aware of what's been happening in other jurisdictions like Manitoba and Quebec, but RCMP in Saskatchewan have not received any complaints of refugees crossing over into the province," said RCMP spokesperson Paul Dederick.

21 illegal immigrants are being held in Manitoba, as walked across the international border during the previous cold snap trying to escape.

He noted if you do see anything suspicious along the border to contact your local RCMP detachment.
