The recent turn in weather has helped local farmers catch up in their seeding progress.

The latest Saskatchewan Agriculture’s Weekly Crop Report says that 30% of the 2017 crop is in the ground. Farmers are gaining ground as the 5-year average for this time is 33%.

The South-East continues to lead the province at 60% seeded, while the South-West is at 46%.

In addition to seeding, producers are busy controlling weeds, and in some cases, wrapping up last years harvest.
