With nice weather after a snowy winter comes the puddles, which can lead to problems.

A headache recently developed for the city of Moose Jaw as a small body of water has taken over the small dog park near the Hamilton Flats ball diamonds. Due to the flooding, the City sent out a release Monday afternoon stating that half of the dog park was out of commission for the time being.

Although anyone with smaller dogs doesn't have very many off-leash options due to the temporary closure, the City says anyone who typically utilizes the large dog park will not be impacted.

"The field for large dogs is operational at the dog park, (corner of 16th Avenue SW and Manitoba St.). The City is investigating options to alleviate the flooding and will advise once the small dog area is available for use."

The City did not release a timeline of when the small dog park would reopen.

Areas near the small dog park such as the parking lot and ball diamonds had flooded due to the warm weather that has recently moved in.
