SaskPower appears to be taking their time when it comes to the development of solar power in Saskatchewan.

Details have been provided to Moose Jaw City Council that are showing the Crown corporation has pushed back their timeline to award a contract to new solar farms to supply power to their grid.

MackSun Solar wants the contract and has a conditional land sale agreement with the City of Moose Jaw for land just west of Hamilton Flats to be developed into the solar farm.  That contract was already extended from December to September but has been extended a second time to June 2018 at the request of the developer who says the process with SaskPower is taking much longer than was originally explained.

When first announced last fall, it was believed that construction could start in spring 2017, but that's not going to happen now.
