The 10 o'clock hour welcomes the new season but the forecast is still showing winter weather.  While it's not terribly cold, the forecast is slightly below normal for the transition of seasons and it's the snow that makes it seem a little odd.

The day started with fog and some freezing drizzle with 10-15cm of snow expected to end the week according to John Paul Cragg, Meteorologist with Environment Canada. "It could change as we're still quite a ways away from the actual event but there's definitely a risk for snow in the Moose Jaw area starting Friday."

Cragg added that with this snowfall, some cities would have experience more snow in the month of March than the entire winter of 2017/18.

Meanwhile, The old Farmers Almanac is calling for snow mixed with rain to start the season, with mild conditions. Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc expects most of the significant rainfall to happen in the month of May.
