There's still another day until summer officially arrives on June 21st but the storm season appears to be off an running. Storm chasers have had to alter their schedules a bit following several major systems that have already hit.

It's been a strange first half to the year with snow in April, drought-like conditions for spring seeding and then a week of back to back storms that saw so much hail dumped on Moose Jaw, it looked like we were hit with a blizzard.

Storm Chaser Craig Hilts says that our weather trend, including our summer storm season, seems to be two weeks ahead of schedule, "This year just seems to be a bit bizarre for weather."

"Weather is completely unpredictable and that's why I love it. You just go out there and you see what Mother Nature can do."

Storm season coming early could mean a quieter summer, with drier weather coming through mid-July rather than mid-August according to Hilts.
