It's been proclaimed as Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week throughout Saskatchewan.

Each year the province makes the proclamation in an effort to shine a light on the contributions made by our local educators and staff who help children in the community grow and learn.

“Throughout the past year, I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the enormous contributions made to our children and school communities by teachers and school staff,” Deputy Premier and Education Minister Gordon Wyant said in a written release.  “We are fortunate to have such outstanding education professionals in our system supporting our students.”

For 32 years the government and affiliated agencies within the education sector have made the proclamation and pick a new theme each year.

"This year's theme, ‘Creating a Vibrant Education Together’, recognizes the importance of the relationships that influence positive experiences for students and educators alike,” Saskatchewan Association of School Councils Director, Joy Bastness said in a written release.  “Teachers, students, parents, and community members all work together to produce a quality educational teaching and learning program.  We recognize and appreciate the teachers and staff members who take the time to give students the knowledge and learning experiences that make them successful and we applaud those valuable contributions."

Teacher and Staff Appreciation week wraps up on Saturday.
