Three more residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, and 299 new cases were announced Thursday.

One resident who died was in their 70s in Saskatoon, and two were 80+ years of age and died in the northwest.

125 of the new cases are in Saskatoon, 44 in Regina, 34 in the north-central region, 17 in the northwest, 16 in the far northeast, 12 in the south-central region, 11 in the far northwest, eight in the southeast, seven in the southwest, six in the central east, four in the central west, four in the far north-central zone, and three in the northeast. Eight new cases are pending residence information.

Of today's cases, 72 are from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre, 68 of those being inmates, and four are staff. Corrections officials are working with public health on measures to reduce the spread within the facility and the correctional system.

Ten cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the following zones: three in Regina, three in the North West, and four in the North Central. 18 Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the total counts in the following zones: 10 in the North West, two in the Far North West, one in the North Central, one in Regina, and four in Saskatoon.

3,146 cases are considered active, which includes 100 active cases in the 'south-central 2' sub-region.

An additional 178 recoveries were announced Thursday as well.

118 people are in hospital, with 90 receiving inpatient care and 18 in intensive care.
