Officials have released a few more details regarding the three arrests made in connection with cross-border smuggling between Saskatchewan and North Dakota.

43-year old Michelle Omoruy from Regina, and her husband Victor Omoruyi, have both been charged by the RCMP with human smuggling and conspiracy to commit human smuggling.

On April 14 police discovered 9 West Africans and Michelle in her vehicle, attempting to cross the border into Canada.

Meanwhile Victor, a Nigerian, was found with Canadian citizens trying to enter the United States illegally.

Canadian and US officials say they are continuing their investigation, which began in late December.

No information has been released regarding the asylum seekers.
