Supporters, organ donors, and transplant receivers gathered at Sunningdale School Sunday for the 5th Annual Transplant Trot in Moose Jaw. Started by Kevin Gadd in 2014, the run continues on every year in the Friendly City.

"In 2014 I had a double lung transplant and my Mom and I, we had to stay up in Edmonton, well [in] recovery," Gadd explained. "We kind of saw a sign about [the Transplant Trot] in the gym and we started asking questions and they told us anyone can set it up and we thought well lets bring this back to Moose Jaw and lets get awareness going."

The goal of the walk/run is to raise funds and awareness for organ and tissue donations. One thing they want to do is change how donations and donor cards work in Saskatchewan.

"Its too bad but Saskatchewan does not have an online registry," explained Roxanna Gadd-Frey, one of the events organizers. "We have to put a little dot on our health card and talk to our family and the most important is talking to our family so they know we want to be organ donors."

Sponsors and teams from across Moose Jaw came together to make this a success, and people of all ages came together to have some fun for a good cause.

In total, Gadd said they managed to raise around $11,000 at the Transplant Trot.
