Over the next few weeks, the City of Moose Jaw will be removing a total of 18 city-owned trees in the downtown area.

They will be marking each tree with an orange "X", and crews will be avoiding peak business hours to minimize any inconvenience.

The trees have either died or are severely declining due to environmental stress and Cottony Ash Psyllid (Sillid) attacks.

Trees will be replaced as deemed appropriate with species that are not susceptible to Cottony Ash Psyllid.

Removal will take place between today and April 5th, weather permitting.

Allof the trees being marked for removal are located downtown.
