The shutdown of the Saskatchewan Transportation Company is going to court.

The Amalgamated Transit Union has filed an injunction to stop STC from being closed, as announced in the provincial budget back in March. At the time, the province said the company was going to need $85 million for the annual subsidy, or about $94 for every passenger. The last buses are scheduled to roll down the highway at the end of the month.

The ATU says the government didn't follow the proper procedures to be able to eliminate the bus company, resulting in the laying off over 200 people.
