COVID-19 has claimed one more death in Saskatchewan today. The deceased person was in their 80's from the Central East zone.

Another 164 new cases of COVID-19 were also announced on Tuesday, Mar. 30, along with 201 recoveries. This brings the active case count in the province to 1,942.

20 of the new cases were found here in the South Central Zone. Regina is reporting 91 new cases.

Currently, 160 people are in the hospital with 138 receiving inpatient care, and 22 in intensive care.

An additional 4,636 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 184,436. 643 of those vaccines were administered in the South Central Zone.

Moose Jaw continues to be an area of concern for the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a total of 118 variants of concern screened. Residents are encouraged to increase their adherence to public safety guidelines, such as:

  • Wear your mask in all public places including all workplaces
  • Wash non-medical masks daily
  • Maintain physical distancingWash your hands frequently
  • Reduce activities outside of your home. 
  • Order take-out or curbside pick-up. 
  • If you are able to work from home, work from home at this time.
  • Avoid all unnecessary travel to and from Moose Jaw

The Government of Saskatchewan is extending the provincial public health orders announced Tuesday, March 9 and the Regina and area revisions announced Tuesday, March 24.

The orders will remain in effect until April 12, 2021 and be reviewed at that time.
