For the fourth straight day weather records were set in the province and Thursday was likely the most active for record keepers as nearly every major centre saw changes to their record highs.

We're counting 28 new records including the one for Moose Jaw as we hit 13 degrees, breaking the old record of 10 from 2002. Maple Creek was the provincial hot spot at 16 degrees and that was just two degrees off the national hot spot.

We're expecting more records to fall on Friday as the heat wave continues with a chance of record breaking weather running right through Tuesday before a new system moves in.

The melting snow and fluctuating temperatures are taking their toll on local roads this week. Potholes are popping up all over the city and plugged storm sewers are creating some localized flooding. City Communications Manager Carol Reynolds-Wittman says they received 30 calls regarding 30 different flooding issues due to clogged catch basins.

"You never know how deep they can be and they could be hiding potholes, we don't want any damage done to vehicles." said Reynolds-Wittman. "And of course be courteous when driving by pedestrians through those puddles, we don't want anybody splashed."

She says we can report any issues, including potholes, by calling the road conditions hotline at 694-4550.
