New Halloween themed programming is coming to the Moose Jaw Western Development Museum this October.

Tickets are on sale now for “Mysteries at the Museum” which will be hosted by the WDM in partnership with the Governor General’s Award nominated Live History theatre group on October 19.

"They've actually worked with our North Battleford WDM in the past," said Karla Rasmussen, education/public programs coordinator. "It's been something that they've built into some of their established events as sort of an add-on. They've been all over the world."

Rasmussen said that tickets are limited for each session, including a Mystery Building Workshop for youth ages 10 - 13, a matinee performance of “Behind Glass” and an evening performance of “Behind Glass” that includes supper in the galleries amongst the artifacts.

This new offering at the Moose Jaw WDM this year will replace the traditional children's Halloween event, Ghostly Games. Rasmussen said the staff wanted to try and take it in a new direction this year.

"The neat thing about this touring company is that they customize all of their plays and performances and workshops to the individual venue that they visit. So that really intrigued us and being able to bring our collection to life was really exciting for us, so we're hoping that this is going to be as good as we're expecting it to be."

Rasmussen said that tickets are limited to 30 per event, so she suggested to get your tickets early, so you can be sure you don't miss out.
