A recent Nature of Conservancy of Canada survey pointed out two things: 87 % of Canadians feel healthier and happier when outside, but 74 % of the respondents said it’s easier to stay indoors.

Karla Rasmussen, Moose Jaw’s ambassador for the local chapter of the ‘Women Who Explore’ group, says it’s also easy to get outside.

"It's an easy thing to do. But I think we put up our own roadblocks sometimes, and we lack that motivation to get up off the couch and have an adventure and explore something."

'Women Who Explore' is open to women of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities.

Rasmussen provided information on how women can get involved with the outdoor club.

"There's a few different ways. They have a wonderful website, which is just 'womenwhoexplore'. And then each of the different chapters has their own Facebook page. These are private groups. You have to search them out." Rasmussen said the Regina Facebook page covers the Moose Jaw 'Women Who Explore' group as well.

The local ‘Women Who Explore’ group meets approximately once per month.
